MIB-200 Ex IS Barriers

The IS barrier MIB-200 Ex is designed to ensure intrinsic safety in electrical circuits of devices located in an explosive zone, in alarm and emergency protection systems at enterprises of petroleum, coal, petrochemical, gas and other industries related to processing, production, application or storage of explosive mixtures, gases or vapors with air.

MIB-200 Ex barrier has seven (7) design versions.

The design version of the product is defined by the channel type, as well as by the direction of signal communication: from an intrinsically unsafe zone to an intrinsically safe zone or from an intrinsically safe zone to intrinsically unsafe.

IS barrier
MIB-212 Ex

Receives an analog current signal in a range of 0...20 (4...20) mA from active and passive devices located in an explosive zone, and transmits it to receiving units located in an explosion-proof zone.

Additionally, it ensures the exchange of digital data between actuating mechanisms and a control device via HART protocol, with a value of input signal not less than 4 mA.

MIB-232 Ex

Receives an analog current signal in a range of 0...20 (4...20) mA from active and passive devices located in an explosive zone, and transmits it to receiving units located in an explosion-proof zone.

Additionally, it makes it possible to duplicate an analog input signal, i.e. receive an input analog signal from 1 passive or active device to 2 input channels and transmit it through 2 output channels to the receiving devices.

IS barrier MIB-232 Ex

Receives an analog current signal in a range of 0...20 (4...20) mA from active and passive devices located in an explosive zone, and transmits it to receiving units located in an explosion-proof zone.

Additionally, it makes it possible to duplicate an analog input signal, i.e. receive an input analog signal from 1 passive or active device to 2 input channels and transmit it through 2 output channels to the receiving devices.

Receives an analog current signal in a range of 0...20 (4...20) mA from control devices located in an explosion-proof zone, and transmits it to actuating mechanisms located in an explosive zone.

IS barrier MIB-252 Ex

Receives analog signals from thermal detectors (thermocouples and resistance temperature detectors), which nominal static characteristics complies with GOST 6651-2009 and GOST R 8.585-2001, located in an explosive zone, converts them and transmits as an analog signal of 0..20 (4..20) mA to devices located in an explosion-proof zone.

Receives signals from devices with an output DC voltage signal in a range from minus 10 to 100 mV and from devices with an electric resistance output signal in a range from 0 to 3,000 Ohm located in an explosive zone, converts them and transmits as an analog signal of 0..20 (4..20) mA to devices located in an explosion-proof zone.

It is configurable. The product is configured upon connection via a USB interface to a PC with installed “Configurator MIB-200” software.

MIB-262 Ex

The following devices can be connected to the product: primary elements with an output as per NAMUR standard (EN 60947-5-6), discrete detectors with a possibility of circuit monitoring, detectors of “dry contact” type.

MIB-272 Ex

Communication of discrete signals from devices in an explosive zone to devices in an explosion-proof zone. Active output. Diagnostics of the line (short circuit, idle run), error output of a relay type. 

Upon Customer’s request, MIB-200 Ex IS barriers registered as measuring instruments may be supplied with primary calibration.
